We want everybody at Michael Drayton Junior School to have an enjoyable time and receive first quality teaching. To help us to achieve this we need everybody to follow our school rules at all times.
- Show care and respect.
- Do your best.
- Play safely.
- Make healthy choices.
Children who follow the school rules will receive praise and, at times,
- Merit Points
- House Points
- Celebrating Success Postcards
Plus year group specific rewards
Children who choose not to follow our rules will receive a consequence. To ensure that consequences are kept fair across the school, working with the school council, we have decided to tackle poor behaviour using a staged approach.
Stages will be given out by teachers to children who are not following school rules. Please see the Parents' Behaviour Guide below for detailed information about Stages.
Children with specific behavioural needs will be identified by the Classteacher who will work with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to produce a personalised behaviour plan. At times these children may need additional support. It is, however, the expectation that EVERYBODY follows the school rules
