Michael Drayton Junior School is part of the Children's University scheme, providing quality learning activities to its pupils outside of school hours.
What is Children’s University?
Children’s University is an innovative project that aims to raise children’s self-esteem, achievements and aspirations through rewarding participation in out-of-school-hours activities.
Childrens' University Passport Scheme
Activities at school: we will keep registers of attendance at all our before and after school clubs and update the records on a termly basis.
Out of school activities: All validated Children’s University activities will stamp the vouchers at your request (look out for the Children’s University emblem or refer to the list of learning destinations) if your child attends regularly they will probably arrange to enter a total number of hours every few months. If your child attends any activity that is not currently registered as a learning destination please complete a nomination form on the Children's University website for them to follow up.
Achieving awards: at the first level children will work towards the following awards; 30 hours for Bronze, 65 hours for silver and 100 hours for Gold. We will update our records termly and arrange special presentation ceremonies to which parents will be invited.
