Discovering bronze... drama during our history lesson

Stone Age Foraging at Hartshill Hayes

We visited Hartshill Hayes and went searching for Rice Crispies and Shreddies to experience how it felt to be a hunter gatherer. The children soon realised that it was hard work collecting just a tiny amount of food and that they would soon be hungry. Back in class, we sorted out what we had gathered: 1 point for a Rice Crispie and 2 points for a Shreddie. The winning team had shown great perseverance by collecting over 300 of the tiny Rice Crispies! On the way back to school we enjoyed a lovely autumnal walk through the woods.
