Mystery Breakfast Winners

3SM were the lucky winners of this week's Mystery Breakfast! The children enjoyed a tasty breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruit with their friends before the start of the school day. It was a lovely way to celebrate the class's positive attendance and punctuality, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the special treat. Well done, 3SM!

European Day of Languages

3SM celebrated European Day of Languages by exploring how different languages connect us through music, family vocabulary and colour words. As a change from Spanish, they focused on French and enjoyed listening to French songs such as Frère Jacques, Alouette and Tête, épaules, genoux et pieds while spotting familiar sounds and repeating new words. We created family trees using printed templates, drawing family members and adding the correct nouns underneath, and also explored colour vocabulary through a rainbow activity. Gruffalo Granny Workshop

On Friday, 3SM were treated to an exciting online workshop. They joined picture‑book favourites Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler as the creators introduced their brand‑new story, Gruffalo Granny. Through the British Library and Macmillan Children’s Books, pupils were given a behind‑the‑scenes look at how Axel brings characters to life. The children loved joining in and even drew their own Gruffalo Granny, using Axel Scheffler’s step‑by‑step illustration guidance to inspire their sketches.
