Pastoral Care

At Michael Drayton Junior School, we believe that ‘Every Child Matters.’ This is reflected in everything we do at school.  The Every Child matters Agenda of Enjoying and Achieving, Staying safe, Making a positive Contribution, Being healthy and Achieving Economic Well-being are at the fore front of how we lead and manage the school.

Through the caring pastoral system, our school lays solid foundations in the development of well-motivated, confident and happy children who are willing to give their best on the road to high achievement. We believe that, through building happy working relationships, each child is enabled to thrive inside and outside the classroom.

Mrs Collins is our Learning Mentor and Pastoral Lead
and she works alongside the Senior Leadership Team and SENCO to support families and their children to help remove any barriers to learning.

If your child is anxious or worried about any aspect of school or home life, such as a bereavement or a family break up, or if you think any situation at home may affect your child’s well-being or happiness at school, then it is important to let us know.

Mrs Hall has many connections with Outside Agencies and may be able to offer some help or advice on subjects such as housing or financial worries.

Mrs Watt is our Pastoral Assistant
and she works with children in school on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support their social and emotional wellbeing.
