Autumn 1 - All around Me

3SM have  been focusing on the geography of the United Kingdom by investigating different countries, counties and cities, and have practised identifying and labelling human and physical features in different environments. They have then began to apply this learning to their own community by studying important Hartshill landmarks and beginning to explain what they enjoy about living in Hartshill. 

The children enjoyed a local walk around Hartshill, spotting important landmarks that help them understand the history and geography of their community. They visited Holy Trinity Church, looked at the remains of Hartshill Castle, and explored the peaceful surroundings of the cemetery while discussing why these places matter to local people.
